There are at least 15 jewel-like lakes within 5 minutes to an hour's drive from Ashland.

Famous golf courses include Rogue Valley, Cedar Links, Laurel Hill, Oak Knoll and Bear Creek.

Enthusiasts come from far and wide to enjoy downhill skiing and cross-country skiing on Mount Ashland. Cross-country skiing is an attraction at Crater Lake National Park and Lake of the Woods Nordic Center.
